Thomas J. DiMarco
Thomas J. DiMarco, age 86, 1140 West 25th Street, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. He was born August 16, 1920 in Erie, a son of the late Giulio F. and Theresa Gigliotti DiMarco.
He had worked at the Marx Toy Company for 35 years. He had served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone. He was a member of the Wolves Club and a Baseball Umpire for 35 years. He was a member of the Giuseppe Mazzini Organization and the Sons of Italy. He was a life member of Musician's Local #17.
He is survived by one daughter, Theresa "Dolly" Dentakis, of Erie; one son, Julio DiMarco and his wife, Susan of Erie; and one sister, Virginia Coccarelli of Erie. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Elena Dentakis, Athens, Greece, and Tommy and Angela DiMarco, both of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. DiMarco; three brothers, Romeo, Nicholas and James "Guido" DiMarco; and three sisters, Angeline Cantoni, Yolanda DiNicola and Mary Campanini.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 a.m.
A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
