Thomas R. Adler
Thomas R. Adler, age 62, of Erie, died Friday August 2, 2013 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born February 27, 1951 in Bethesda, MD, a son of the late Edward J. Adler Sr. and Evelyn M. Manstch Adler.
He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class of 1969 and attended Gannon University. Thomas served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had worked at G.E. and for the City of Erie for the past 26 years. He enjoyed lawn care, landscaping, golf and spending time with his daughter and her friends. He was a Times Old Newsies.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dawn A. Johnson Adler; a daughter, Emily F. Adler both of Erie; one brother, Edward J. Adler, Jr. of Murrells Inlet, SC; two sisters, Marlene Adler of Girard, PA and Sharon G. Trost and husband Jerry of Erie and three nephews, David and Michael Adler and Jamie Trost. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, Min Johnson and Joe Santone; one brother-in-law, Dr. David Johnson all of Erie and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501 or the Humane Society of NWPA, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
