Thomas R. Modeski

Thomas R. Modeski, age 91, formerly of 353 Short Street, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Soldiers and Sailors Home.

He was born December 28, 1915 in Erie, a son of the late William and Annie Cyborka Modeski. He had served in the United States Army during World War II. He had worked for General Electric, Mayer Brothers Construction and Hammermill Paper Company. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 911.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Balinski Modeski; a daughter, Judith Swanson; two brothers, Frank and Michael Modeski; and a sister, Stella Lombardozzi.
He is survived by one son, Thomas C. Modeski and his wife Janet, of Waterford, PA; and one brother, Stanley Modeski of Erie.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
