Tommaso N. Montagna

Tommaso "Tom" N. Montagna, 86, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. He was born December 21, 1931 in Rocca Pia, Italy a son of the late Luigi and Maria Giammario Montagna.

Tom left Rocca Pia when he was 18 years old and lived in Australia for 10 years then settled in Erie in 1959; where he pursued a career in the construction business.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Petronella Amatangelo; two brothers, Giuseppe Montagna and Mario Montagna; a great-aunt, Regitina Giammario; and two grandsons, Anthony N. Vitale and Michael T. Vitale.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Loreta R. DelleDonne Montagna; a daughter, Lina L. Vitale (Salvatore); two sons, Tommy N. Montagna (fiancée Amy) and Dennis J. Montagna (Cindy) all of Erie; three brothers, Dionesio "Dino" Montagna of Italy, Paul Montagna (Jennie) and Nicolas Montagna both of Erie; and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Jared, Sophia, Emma, Thomas, Salina and Lucas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint George Church, 5145 Peach Street, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
