Gudrun W. "Gudi" Wohlgemuth Mello

Gudrun W. "Gudi" Wohlgemuth Mello, age 71, of Erie, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Fairview Manor after an extended illness. .

She was born November 8, 1941 in Danzig, Germany, a daughter of the late Karl and Valeria "Walli" Jesewski Wohlgemuth. She lived in Erie since 1952.

Gudi was of graduate of Orajeans Beauty School. She was a hairdresser for 40 years. She owned and operated Gudi's Beauty Salon, retiring in 2000.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Gertrude Mandel and Traute Bender and her brother-in-law, Hubert Mandel.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Ronald R. Mello and his children and grandchildren; her daughter, Deborah L. Marmolejo; two grandchildren, Zachary and Cheyenne and brother-in-law, Henry Bender all of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the family's convenience. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
