Viola A. "Vi" Guenot Salvatore

Viola A. "Vi" Guenot Salvatore, 96, of Erie, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 in her longtime Millcreek home after an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1920 in Karthaus, PA, to the late Herman and Sara Rees Guenot.

After high school Vi moved to Erie where she met and married Michael Salvatore in 1946. The two raised four children and then enjoyed their retirement years traveling in Europe and spending winters in Kissimmee, Florida. They were among the original members of Our Lady of Peace Church. Mike passed away in 1996.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vi was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Vi is survived by four children, Marcia (Dave) Hines, Michael (Nancy) Salvatore, Jim (Amy) Salvatore, and Barb Jewell. She is also survived by seven grandsons Marc King, Matt Hines, Jeffrey, Steven, Brian and Joe Salvatore and Chad Jewell; three great-grandchildren and two brothers.

Viola's family would like to thank her caregivers Gina, Diana, Joelle and Veronica for all their love, care and support for the last three years.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 2401 West 38th Street at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
