Virginia G. Harned Freeman
Virginia G. Harned Freeman, age 84, of Erie, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at The Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.
She was born September 15, 1930 in Erie, a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret McManus Harned. She lived in Erie her entire life.
Virginia was a graduate of Academy High School, Class of 1948. She worked at Security People's Trust and Sitter Printing. She enjoyed golfing and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Freeman and a brother, Eugene Mulhiern.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie M. Lewicki and Laura Rocco (Americo); one son, Gary W. Freeman all of Erie; one brother, Frank Harned, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; one sister, Edna Chilcott of Tampa, FL and five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lauren, Lindsey, Nicholaus and Dominic. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Madison and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry St., on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
Virginia's family would like to thank everyone you for the wonderful care that was given at Zurn Pavilion and Reed House II. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, 227 West 22nd Street, Erie, PA 16052.
