Virginia M. Montagna-DiMarco Coccarelli
Virginia M. Montagna-DiMarco Coccarelli, age 88, resident of Abington Crest Nursing Center, formerly of West 24th Street, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2007.
She was born April 19, 1919 in Erie, a daughter of the late Vincenzo Montagna and the Theresa Gigliotti Montagna DiMarco and stepdaughter of the late Giulio F. DiMarco. She lived in Erie her entire life. She had worked at Sterling Seal for 42 years. She was a member of the Blue Army and Saint Paul's Altar and Rosary Society. She volunteered at local nursing homes well into her eighties and enjoyed dancing and being with people.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guido D. "Gooch" Coccarelli; four brothers, Tom, Nicholas, James "Guido" and Romeo DiMarco and three sisters, Mary Campanini, Yolanda DiNicola and Angie Cantoni.
She is survived by one son, James V. Coccarelli and his wife Annette E. of Erie and three granddaughters, Lindsay, Kaila and Carly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Service there on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m
