Walter J. Lewandowski

Walter J. Lewandowski, 85, formerly of West 21st Street, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Fairview Manor. He was born January 11, 1923 in Erie, a son of the late Joseph and Gladys Krolak Lewandowski. He lived in Erie his entire life. He was a S. Sgt. in the United States Marines during World War II. He was a member of Local Iron Workers #348.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Albina Lombardo Lewandowski; one brother, Stanley Lewandowski and three sisters, Helen Stevens, Therese C. Duskus and Julia Zimmerman. He is survived by three sons, Gary Lewandowski of Erie, Ronald Lewandowski and his wife Patricia of Las Vegas, NV and Joseph Lewandowski and his wife Cheryl of Girard; one sister, Virginia Belczyk and her husband, John of Erie; three grandchildren, Jay, Anthony and Jeffrey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a granddog, Reba.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Wednesday at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
