Walter R. Laskey

Walter R. Laskey, 88, of Erie, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Saint Vincent Health Center after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 4, 1927 in Erie, a son of the late Philip F. and Irene Keberlein Laskey.

He served in the United states Army during World War II and with the National Guard during the Korean War.

He had worked at GE for 28 years, retiring in 1989.

After his retirement he enjoyed long walks and communicating with his friends along the way. He was an avid gardener and above all loved his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Wilfred P. Laskey and one sister, Elsie Husted.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Salvatore Laskey; two sons, Walter R. Laskey and Gary P. Laskey and one brother, John Laskey (Sara) all of Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
