William A. Stidham

William A. Stidham, 64, of West 22nd Street, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born August 15, 1944 in Lee City, Kentucky, a son of the late George and Nettie Salley Stidham. He lived in Erie for the past 48 years. He had worked at Community Caring and Superior Bronze. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family picnics.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Ross.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Jo Nickell Stidham; one daughter, Lisa Markheart and husband Kevin of MS; three sons, Daryl Stidham and wife Anita of North East, PA, Glenn Stidham and wife Sherry of Erie and Mark Stidham and wife Faith of KY; two brothers, Arlis Stidham of KY and Orvil Stidham of OH and two sisters, Lena Burnette and Devonia Easterling both of KY. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday at 11 am until the time of Funeral Service there at 1 pm. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
