William C. "Billy" Aquillono

William C. "Billy" Aquillono, age 60, of Erie died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born July 25, 1947 in Erie, a son of the late Carl and Caroline Mancerio Aquillono. He had served on the USS Georgetown during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Navy with a rank of E-4. He had worked at the Erie Times Newspaper for over 32 years. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiasts. He enjoyed bicycling around the peninsula and sunny days on the beach. He was a fan of the 2008 Super Bowl Champions the New York Giants.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Aquillono and four sisters, Clara Smock, Frances Alberico, Thelma Trabuccio and Mary Noce. He is survived by sisters, Angeline Gualtieri and her husband Michael, Vera Berarducci and her husband John, Rosie Aquillono, Carol Trabuccio, Patricia "Bebe" Trabuccio and Mary Kathryn Basham all of Erie and brother, Joe Trabuccio of VA. He is also survived by Denise Wilson and her husband Robert of Girard, Michelle Donovan and her husband John of Waterford, Michael Gualtieri and his wife Colleen of Erie, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be private.
