William F. Pennock Sr.
William F. "Bill" Pennock Sr., age 82, of McKean, passed away gently at Edinboro Manor Friday, December 14, 2007.
He was born April 25, 1925 in Erie, a son of the late Frank and Anna Hodanick Pennock. Bill attended a one room school house on East Stancliff Road and graduated from Erie Academy High School. In the early 50's Bill opened Twin Oaks Inspection Station at the corner of Bargain Road and Route 99. With Bill's love for farming, he took on the International Harvester Franchise including agricultural, industrial, light motor truck and lawn and garden equipment. Bill also added the Kubota equipment line to Pennocks Sales and Service before turning the business over to his son.
William attended Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Church and served on the church Senate. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Dealer's Association and the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Michael Pennock and a sister, Mary Bebko. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion F. Lanuha Pennock of McKean; one daughter; Carol Ann Pennock of Solomons, MD; one son, William J. "Bill" Pennock Jr. of McKean and four sisters, Betty Hornyak of Girard, Margaret Meeder of Hanover, PA, Helen Silay and Shirley Wilczewski both of Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, 3415 Wallace St., at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. A Panichita Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, 3415 Wallace St., Erie, PA 16504.
