Yolanda DiNunzio DeFazio

On Tuesday, August 11, 2015, the newest angel, "Yo", was joyfully welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yolanda "Yo" was born in Erie June 21, 1924 to the late Anthony and Angeline (DiSanto) DiNunzio

After graduating from Strong Vincent High School she entered the work force at local industries including Bliley, GE, and Erie Technological Products where she was an inspector.

Jimmy DeFazio was the lucky man to capture her heart and make her his bride on May 22, 1948 and they celebrated 66 blessed years together.

Although she was an active member of Saint Andrew RC Church she could be found at churches throughout the city participating in Mass, greeting people with a smile or kiss, and passing out her famous "glow in the dark" rosaries.

Whenever prayers where needed the call came in asking for her to pray for their pressing intentions and immediately she would put them on her prayer list.

Everyone that ever met her realized they were truly touched by an angel who graciously bestowed her love, kindness, compassion, Godly words of wisdom, and sense of humor to all she came in contact with.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Elmer (Dorothy) DiNunzio, sister Marie (Harold Roach) and nephew Ronald Roach. She leaves behind her two loving, devoted, and heartbroken daughters, Jacqueline DeFazio and Ann Adams, son-in-law Ken Adams, grandsons Anthony and Nicholas, plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sincere thanks to special friends Carol LeCorchick and Debbie Brasington and caregivers Debbie S., Deb C., Gayle, Kylie, Candy, Maria, and Shirley.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday at Saint Andrew Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie, PA 16502 from 11a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Andrew's Food Pantry or to the charity of one's choice.

The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
